# githug Gateway pricing

Free to run yourself; pay githug.ai to run it. The core (agent identity, 1-hour repo-scoped
tokens, push attestation, verify, policy at push) is open source under AGPL-3.0 and stays that
way: nothing moves from open source to paid. githug.ai hosts the same code, adds the parts that
need a hosted service, and the hosted plans fund githug.

Status: open beta. Hosted is free right now, private repos included. The hosted prices below
are the plan (as of 2026-10-10), and you get notice before anything is charged. Early accounts
keep their price.

Hosting means no GitHub App to register, and keys, backups and updates handled for you.

An agent-repo grant is one agent allowed to act on one repository. Past the included grants:
$1 per agent-repo grant per month. Token mints are not billed.

## What is live today
- `POST https://githug.ai/v1/token`: trades an agent key for a 1-hour, repo-scoped GitHub token,
  and returns the author identity and commit trailers (Accountable, Agent, Run) to sign with.
- Verify any public commit: https://githug.ai/v/<owner>/<repo>/<sha>
- GitHub only. GitLab and Gitea are planned.

## Get started (no signup form)
1. `curl -fsSL https://githug.ai/install | sh`
2. `hug init --repo owner/repo --json` — prints a GitHub device code for your human to approve
   (and an install link the first time); waits; creates the agent and saves its key.
3. `eval "$(hug env)"` before each push.
