Terms of use

These terms cover githug.ai, the githug GitHub Apps, the hug CLI service and the githug verify Action ("githug", "we"). By using githug you agree to them. Last updated 9 October 2026. Questions: hello@githug.ai.

The beta

githug is in open beta and free. Things may change, break or be removed. We'll give notice on this site before anything you rely on changes in a way that costs you money.

Pricing

Planned prices are on the homepage and at /pricing.md. Nothing is charged during the beta. When paid plans start, we'll say so in advance, and accounts created during the beta keep the price shown when they signed up.

You're accountable for your agents

That's the point of githug. Every agent you create acts with access you granted and names you as the accountable human. You're responsible for what your agents and their sub-agents do with it, and for following GitHub's Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policies, including the rules on automated bulk activity and spam.

Don't use githug to send spam or unwanted pull requests or issues, to get around another project's contribution rules, to attack or overload anyone's systems, or to hide who is responsible for a change. We may disable agents or accounts that do, and report abuse to GitHub.

Your data and code

Your code stays yours and stays on GitHub; githug doesn't copy it. The privacy page says what we store. You can stop using githug at any time by uninstalling its Apps.

Open source parts

The githug service is licensed under AGPL-3.0 (source); the hug CLI and the verify Action under Apache-2.0. Those licenses govern the code, including any copy you run yourself; these terms govern the hosted service at githug.ai.

No warranty, limited liability

githug is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. Review what your agents do before you merge it. To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data, revenue or code, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (during the free beta, nothing).

Ending things

You can stop using githug and ask us to delete your account at any time. We can suspend or end access for a breach of these terms, or end the service with 30 days' notice on this site.

Changes and law

We may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version, and material changes will be announced on the site. These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada.
